Who we are
A full-service CA firm in Baner, working with Pune businesses since 2010
N D Savla & Associates is a chartered accountancy practice on Pashan–Sus Road in Baner, serving manufacturers in Chakan and Bhosari, IT and SaaS companies in Hinjewadi and Kharadi, doctors and consultants across Aundh and Kothrud, and NRI families with property and portfolios in India.
Most firms sell you a filing. We take responsibility for the position behind it. That means the income tax return is reconciled against your GSTR-2B input tax credit, your TDS returns agree to Form 26AS before we file, and your ROC annual filings match the audited financials we signed. When a mismatch triggers a notice, the same team that prepared the return drafts the reply.
The practice spans audit and assurance, direct and indirect tax, corporate compliance, valuation, transfer pricing and insolvency — so you rarely need a second adviser.

In detail
Income tax filing in Pune, done properly the first time
Most notices we see in Pune are not the result of aggressive positions. They come from small, avoidable mismatches: interest income that never made it into the return, a TDS credit on a property purchase claimed in the wrong year, capital gains reported against the wrong holding period, or foreign assets left out of Schedule FA. We build the return from source data — bank statements, AIS, TIS, Form 26AS, broker reports — rather than from last year's copy, and we reconcile before we file.
Which return form applies to you
Picking the wrong form is the fastest route to a defective return notice under section 139(9). A salaried person with one house property files ITR-1; add capital gains or foreign income and it becomes ITR-2. Business and professional income goes into ITR-3, or ITR-4 under presumptive taxation. Firms and LLPs file ITR-5, companies file ITR-6, and trusts and institutions file ITR-7.
Audit, TDS and the rest of the direct tax calendar
Once turnover crosses the section 44AB threshold, a tax audit and Form 3CD come with it, and the filing deadline moves. Businesses that deduct tax also carry quarterly obligations — Form 24Q for salaries, Form 26Q for other domestic payments and Form 27Q for payments to non-residents. Property buyers file Form 26QB, and tenants above the rent threshold have their own TDS on rent obligation.
Do not reply from the portal without reading the section it was issued under. We handle section 143(1)(a) adjustments, 142(1) inquiries, 143(2) scrutiny, 148 reassessment and 245 refund adjustments, right through to appeal before the CIT(A) and representation at the ITAT.
GST: the return is only as good as the reconciliation
Input tax credit is now driven almost entirely by what your suppliers file. If a vendor misses GSTR-1, the credit does not appear in your GSTR-2B, and claiming it anyway invites a demand with interest. Our monthly cycle runs the reconciliation first, chases the gaps, and only then files the 3B. For businesses with job work we also handle ITC-04; for closures, GSTR-10 final return; and where a registration has been cancelled, revocation.
Freelancers and consultants billing overseas clients from Pune have their own set of questions — export of services, LUT, place of supply. Start with GST registration for freelancers, and if you are a non-resident supplier, registration for foreigners or OIDAR.
Who we work with
Different businesses, different compliance loads
The filings that matter to a Chakan manufacturer are not the ones that matter to an NRI selling a flat in Baner. Start where you fit.
Startups & founders
From incorporation to your first funding round, with the registrations investors ask for.
SMEs & manufacturers
Recurring GST and TDS cycles, stock control, and the audits your bankers expect.
NRIs & global families
Residential status, repatriation, DTAA relief and property transactions in India.
Trusts & NGOs
Registration, exemption approvals, donation reporting and Charity Commissioner filings.
Cross-border
NRI and international tax advisory from Pune
A large part of our practice is people who no longer live in India but still own something here — a flat in Baner, an inherited plot, a demat account, a share of a family firm. The questions repeat: how many days make me a resident, do I have to file at all, how much TDS will the buyer deduct, and how do I get the money out.
We start with residential status under the Income Tax Act — including the separate treatment for PIO and OCI holders and the returning Indian — because everything else follows from it. From there: filing the return of income, exempt income, Chapter XII-A special provisions, and NRE, NRO and FCNR account planning.
On the remittance side we issue Form 15CA and 15CB, apply for a lower tax deduction certificate so the buyer does not withhold at the maximum rate, and obtain the tax residency certificate needed to claim double taxation relief. Seafarers have a dedicated route — merchant navy taxation and ITR filing for seafarers.
Where money moves the other way, FEMA governs it: FDI filing with RBI, FC-GPR, FC-TRS, the annual FLA return and overseas direct investment.

Trusted by businesses across Pune
Baner, Pune
A chartered accountant office you can actually walk into
Our office sits in Baner Business Bay on Pashan–Sus Road, behind the Audi showroom. That puts us minutes from Balewadi High Street and Aundh, a short run down the bypass to Hinjewadi and Wakad, and within easy reach of Kothrud, Shivajinagar and Kharadi.
Clients come to us from across the city and the industrial belt — Chakan, Talegaon, Bhosari, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Hadapsar. Much of the work runs on shared drives and video calls, but for an assessment hearing, a stock audit or a first meeting about setting up a company, there is no substitute for sitting across a table.
Maharashtra-specific filings we handle regularly include professional tax registration and PT returns, Shop Act registration, RERA project registration for developers, and Charity Commissioner submissions for trusts.

Questions we get asked
Frequently asked questions
What does a chartered accountant in Pune typically handle for a small business?
For most small businesses it is four recurring streams: bookkeeping and monthly accounts, GST returns, TDS returns, and the annual income tax return with audit where applicable. Companies and LLPs add ROC annual filings. We usually package these as one annual retainer so nothing falls between the gaps.
Do I need a tax audit, and what is the turnover threshold?
A tax audit under section 44AB applies once business turnover or professional receipts cross the prescribed limits, with a higher turnover limit available where cash receipts and payments stay within 5 per cent. The thresholds are amended fairly often, so we check your figures against the current provisions rather than last year's rule. Businesses opting out of presumptive taxation can also be pulled in below the headline limit.
I've received an income tax notice. What should I do first?
Read which section it was issued under and note the response deadline — the reply for a 143(1)(a) adjustment is nothing like the reply for a 148 reassessment. Do not agree to a proposed adjustment on the portal just to close it. Send us the notice and the return, and we will tell you within a day whether it is a correction, an inquiry or the start of an assessment. Full detail on our income tax notice page.
Should I register a private limited company or an LLP?
If you intend to raise external funding or issue ESOPs, a private limited company is almost always the answer — investors will not subscribe to an LLP. If it is a professional services or family business with no funding plans, an LLP carries a materially lighter annual compliance load. Solo founders should also look at a one person company.
Do NRIs have to file an income tax return in India?
Filing is required if your India-sourced income exceeds the basic exemption limit, and it is worth filing voluntarily where TDS has been over-deducted and you want the refund. Start with residential status, because a person can be non-resident for FEMA and resident for income tax in the same year. See NRI tax filing for the full picture.
Can you take over the books mid-year from our existing accountant?
Yes, and it is common. We run an accounting review on the opening position first — trial balance, GST and TDS reconciliations, open ROC items — so we know exactly what we are inheriting before we sign off on anything. That review is quoted separately and takes about two weeks for a typical SME.
Do you work with clients outside Pune?
Yes. Filings are entirely online, and we serve clients across Maharashtra and the rest of India, plus NRIs in the Gulf, the US, the UK and Singapore. Physical attendance is only needed for hearings, certain audits and registrations, and we handle those through the office network.
How are your fees structured?
Recurring compliance is an annual retainer billed monthly or quarterly, so you know the cost upfront. One-off work — valuations, due diligence, M&A support, litigation — is quoted per assignment after the first consultation. There are no charges before a written scope is agreed.
